Bear in the cities

Today we (Amber, Elle, and I) were watching some Disney clips on Youtube when the one we are watching (Hakuna Matata) finished Amber started to get excited and said, "The bear in the cities, can we watch the bear in the cities." I just looked at her and asked her which one she was talking about. She had said the same thing a couple of days ago and I couldn't figure out what she was talking about then either. So this time she was able to point at it on the side menu of related videos. The "bear in the cities" was the Jungle Books Bare Necessities. I laughed so hard when I saw what she was trying to say. It is so cute I don't think I will correct her for a little while so I can hear her say it a couple more times. That makes me a bad mom but it is so funny to hear her say it and sing it.

Losing my brain

The other day I decided to take the girls to a pet store to see the animals. They both had a really good time and we got to see all kinds of pets, some strange/unusual (spiders, ducks, chicks, and scorpions). Amber really seemed interested in these unusual pets. Later that day while I was going through some papers on the table I found a bill that somehow had gotten mixed in and was late. After finding the bill the following conversation took place:

Me: I have lost my brain.
Amber: Where is it?
Me: I wish I knew.
Amber: Maybe you left it at the pet store place. *long pause* You gave it to the spider.
Me: No, I don't think the spider has my brain and if it did I don't think it would help it much.

I thought that that was the end of that but a while later and after we had talked about all kinds of other things she just blurts out.

Amber: Mom, the spiders ate your brain.

I have no idea where that came from and I don't think that she has any idea what a brain is but it was still rather funny. Ever since seeing the spiders she will talk about them. Sometimes they are scary and other times they aren't. She sure does have a good imagination and kids sure do say the darnedest things is all I can say.

Hormone food

I am not sure if it is just me or not but right before a certain time of the month (aunt flow*) I really crave/must have something. It usually ends up being Cafe Rio that I need. The pork burrito (black beans, mild sauce, enchilada style with extra lettuce) usually does the trick but occasionally it is a pork salad that is urgently needed. If I don't end up going and getting my hormone fix, as it has come to be called, I am fine (read:or I am just grumpy, testy, mean and/or emotional) but I am more pleasant to be around if I do (J will vouch for that). Does anyone else have a hormone food (aside from chocolate - because we all need chocolate right!?) that they crave or is it just me?
*sometimes being a girl isn't so fun but there are a lot of reasons why I love it.
