A Happy Christmas!

I don't know how it happened so fast, but Christmas came and went. I guess I am just getting old - they say the older you get the faster time goes by. Oh well. We ended up spending Christmas at my parents house in Heber. It was a little different from St. George, you know, with all the snow and freezing temperatures. That is how I like it though, it isn't Christmas without snow. I think Amber liked the snow, well she did like doing donuts in it anyway. She kept asking to do it over and over! The other thing Amber really liked was opening presents. She didn't pay a lot of attention to what was under the wrapping paper until she was all done opening everything. She kept asking for "more presents" and didn't understand why she couldn't open everyones. All in all I think she made out like a bandit. Here are a couple shots of her on Christmas.

As you can see she was a little tired by the end of it all!!

The English Language

Why does the English language have so many words that have two meanings. Poor Amber is trying to learn new things and then gets confused when there is more than one meaning for a word. For example the other day she was pointing out parts on a cow/bull that she has. She couldn't figure out why the cow had two sets of ears. I then pointed to the horns and said, "these are the cows horns." Her response was, "honk honk." It was really cute and it made me laugh! This is just one example - I could go on and on. Oh well, I don't think there is much I can do about it. I don't think changing the name of horn to something else would help her. I guess we will have to practice that one.

My First Gingerbread House

I finally got to decorate my first gingerbread house. J's work had a Christmas party and the boss, Merle, made everyone a gingerbread house to decorate. It was a lot of fun! It was a little hard with Amber sitting next to me trying to take everything off, but she was a little busy eating as much candy as she could get her hands on. Which was a lot! Here is a picture of the finished gingerbread house and two of Amber with candy all over her face.

Too Tall.

So it appears that I need to really be careful when I am putting thing on the table edge. I already knew this, but it hasn't really backfired on me until today. Here is how it played out. I was vacuuming and Amber was playing with her toys and trying to stay as far away from the vacuum as she could (she is scarred of it most of the time, except when she wants to help). The next thing I know I look over and she is eating my doughnut! J had his final in class last night and took them doughnuts for them to munch on while taking their test and had some leftovers so I snagged one. When I caught Amber she had a look like 'I am in trouble now' - but I didn't take it away so she continued to eat it happily. Here are a few shots of her with the stolen doughnut.

This is where I had left the doughnut - silly me that was my mistake!

Another girl on the way!!

Well it appears that J, Amber and I will be welcoming a little baby girl to our family in April. It's a good thing that we have modern technologies like ultrasounds because I was sure it was a boy. Here are a couple of pictures of our baby girl.
